Fresh Salad is The Helm’s next art show. It is curated by Joseph Peila. It will feature the work of 5 photographers. It is about youth. Come see it.

Showcase Tacoma is on August 8th and 9th in Tollefson plaza. The Helm will be there building something rad.

If this is the only reason you go to Showcase, that’s ok. I’m fine with that. But you should definitely be there to see The Helio Sequence because they’re going to rock. And if Tacoma has another Air incident, it’s gonna be like a rusty pocket knife in my heart. And I’ll say “That’s the last time you put a knife in me [Tacoma]!”

Ha. Tacoma is phonetically similar to Pagoda.

In July, The Helm will be taking a strategic break (read: we’re tired as hell). We had planned on taking the whole month off and putting Sean Connery’s mug in our windows a la YTMND but instead decided to go with Vanessa La Valle’s Fire, Fire. The show will be on display for only 3 days. Don’t miss it.

The Helm is currently working on revamping their layout. Sometime in the next couple days we’ll roll out an eye-popping, butt-slamming, kickass new website.
